The only film that I didn’t get tickets for yet is Jar City (Mýrin). I’ll be checking the box office but may need to rush it on Thursday afternoon.

My boss is kind enough to allow me to make up time for daytime weekday screenings. I can’t see anything in the afternoon or evening of this weekend (Sept 8 and 9) because of my comp tickets to Virgin Fest. Regardless, I’m seeing at least 14 films this year and Seana and I are going to have a blast!

  1. Great selections there, looks like a rockin’ year for you!

I don’t know anyone that *did* get into Jar City as of yet. Who knew it would be more elusive than films like Atonement.

  2. James McNally says:

Haha, *I* got tickets to Jar City, so at least we’ll have a review posted here.

  3. Bob Turnbull says:

I got bumped from Jar City as well (from its opening night slot). I’m happy with my backup pick though.

By the way, does anyone know of anyone who ordered additional tickets online today? I ordered an additional 4 this morning at 7:15AM (some films were blocked off, but most were available – including Jar City!), but have yet to receive any response or even just a confirmation that the order was submitted. I can’t even check online as my password doesn’t seem to work for either my email or my Guest ID. Nor can I reset it since the web page tells me the system doesn’t even know about my email id! I’ve sent an email to them, but they must be swamped.

I’m still happy with my 10 films (being in box 45, I’m amazed I got 9 of 10), but those extra 4 would’ve really been great…

  4. Bob Turnbull says:

Looks like I got my additional 4 films…I got an email this morning notifying me that I can pick up the tickets to all 4.

I wish there had been a confirmation email of the order, but I have to say I’m very pleased that they did indeed follow through with it.

    Festivities begin tonight!

  5. Oh, you did get tickets – gratz, that is excellent. Will be interested to hear what it’s like!

Bob – I’m glad you got your order sorted out. I used passes this year so the only online ordering I did was the original order. Sounds like everything was sorted out in the end!

  6. Bob Turnbull says:

Shannon – Yes, those last 4 films were individually bought and I also did the 10 ticket pass. And for whatever complaints people have had about the web site, etc., I’m impressed that they do always seem to sort things out to most people’s satisfaction.
